Morning folks, Harelaw continues to fish well early season, last week saw steady catches all week from both bank and boat anglers.
Monday to Thursday last week was pretty wild up here weather-wise.. .but it fished good, Friday was brick hard on here with the bright sunshine and light winds.
However by the weekend, the fishing started to really pick up again, a mixture of early-season lures and snakes were most productive again last week, although as we continue to heat up and the settled weather continues…..we are starting to get decent hatches of buzzers.
Flies to try, Fabs with diawls and comorants, vicar buzzers, any basic black buzzer, black crunchers….and of course, snakes and lures
Some notable catch returns…
Gregor Fleming and Joseph Wood 20 plus to boat…….matching the hatch, under the bung
Stephen Francis 7 from the bank including a fantastic overwintered double of 11lb 2oz….all on buzzers
Chris Tonks had a fish of 9lb from the bank on Sunday
Tom Edgar and Danny Dyer had 9 fish to the boat yesterday, a mixture of booby’s and nymphs.
Donald Stewart got his season off to a great start yesterday catching 9 from the bank on spider patterns including this stunning blue pictured below
A special mention to Stuart Gordon, a fantastic day on the boat for him Saturday he finished with 7 fish, including a double rainbow and 2 brownies over 4lb…Stuart was due a good day on here!!
Looking forward guys, the weather is settled for the foreseeable….get yourself up Harelaw
